Terms of Use

Effective 30.05.2026 · Last updated 30.05.2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Foodie app. By downloading or using Foodie, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who provides Foodie

Foodie is provided by Mikael Walde, a sole proprietorship (enkeltpersonforetak) registered in Norway. You can reach us at purwalbsn@gmail.com.

2. The service

Foodie lets you save, organize, import, and cook recipes, including importing recipes from web links, images, and videos using automated and AI-based tools. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

3. Eligibility

Foodie is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). By using the app you confirm you meet this age requirement and can form a binding agreement.

4. Foodie Pro subscription

Foodie offers a free tier with a limited number of recipe imports, and a paid subscription, Foodie Pro, which unlocks a higher import allowance and additional features. Foodie Pro is offered as an auto-renewable subscription at NOK 79 per month or NOK 599 per year. Prices may vary by region and are shown in the App Store at the time of purchase.

5. Billing and auto-renewal

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends, at the then-current price for the selected plan.

6. Cancelling your subscription

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings (on your device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or via the App Store). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

7. Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. We do not handle payments and cannot issue refunds directly. Refund requests are handled by Apple under their terms — you can request one through Apple's "Report a Problem" page at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may have a statutory right of withdrawal for digital purchases; this right may not apply once the service has begun with your express consent, which occurs when you start using a paid feature.

8. AI features and accuracy

Foodie uses automated and AI-based tools to import and structure recipes. These tools can make mistakes. Extracted ingredients, quantities, cooking times, temperatures, and instructions may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for using your own judgement when following any recipe, in particular regarding allergens, dietary restrictions, food safety, and safe cooking temperatures. Foodie is not a substitute for professional, nutritional, or medical advice.

9. Your content and imported recipes

Recipes, notes, and lists you create or import remain yours. By importing content, you confirm you have the right to do so. Imported recipes may be subject to the rights of their original authors or publishers, and you are responsible for how you use that content. To provide the import feature, you grant us and our service providers a limited licence to process the content you submit, solely to deliver the feature to you. How that content is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Foodie to import, store, or share unlawful content; to interfere with or overload the service; to attempt to reverse engineer or circumvent the app's limits or subscription controls; or to use the app in any way that breaches applicable law or these terms.

11. Intellectual property

Foodie, including its software, design, and name, is owned by us and protected by applicable law. These terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property other than the right to use the app under these terms and the licence agreement referenced below.

12. Disclaimers

Foodie is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that imported recipes will be accurate. This does not affect any warranties that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Norwegian or EU/EEA law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Your consumer rights

If you use Foodie as a consumer, you have rights under Norwegian and EU/EEA consumer protection law that cannot be waived. Nothing in these terms limits those mandatory rights.

15. Changes to the service and these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be reflected in the app or on this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from the mandatory consumer protections of the country in which you live.

17. End User License Agreement

Your licence to use the Foodie application is also governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. In the event of any conflict regarding the licence to use the app, that agreement applies.

18. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to Mikael Walde at purwalbsn@gmail.com.
